Luke Holtzman

Doctoral Student

Luke Holtzman is currently pursuing a MS/PhD of Materials Science and Engineering in Columbia University's Department of Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics. As a member of the Barmak and Hone Groups at Columbia, Luke studies the synthesis and defect characterization of transition metal dichalcogenides, a group of semiconducting two-dimensional materials. Prior to Columbia, Luke graduated summa cum laude in 2019 from SUNY - College at Geneseo with two Bachelor's of Science degrees in Chemistry and Physics, and was also a 2018 Goldwater Scholar. While in Geneseo, Luke's research focused on the synthesis and characterization of colloidal cesium lead halide nanocubes.
